Have you recently started streaming on Kick and want to add emotes to your stream for your viewers to use? Well I have the tutorial for you, let's take a few minutes to get some emotes uploaded to your Kick channel.

Adding emotes to your Kick channel is a fairly quick and easy process, to get started visit the Kick website and click on your profile image in the upper right hand corner:

Next, click the Settings button from the drop down menu that appears. This will bring you to your main Kick Settings Page which should look something like this:

From here you will want to expand the \"Community\" tab on the left, then select the \"Emotes\" page to open up the Kick Emote Management Page

Now it's finally time to upload some emotes! Click the + button at the top of the screen to open the emote upload window

Next click the + in the middle of the screen to select your emote that you want to upload, this will open up your browsers file selector and allow you to select the emote image. It is worth remembering that Kick emotes must be either a PNG or a GIF, be less than 500px x 500px in size and cannot be larger than 1MB. As of writing, all emotes uploaded to Kick will be cropped into a square aspect ratio.

Once you have selected your file, it's time to give your emote a name! Fill out the Name form input in the bottom of the Add Channel Emote modal. Once you have named your emote, click the Add button and the emote will be uploaded to your channel!

If you would like to upload more emotes, you can simply repeat the process above. You can upload up to 60 emotes to Kick.

If you would like to upload more emotes than that, or would like to upload wide emotes you can install and use AeroKick.

AeroKick allows anyone to upload up to 500 custom emotes that anyone in your chat can use. What is AeroKick

\r\n

AeroKick is a few things, it's a browser extension that allows you to customize your experience on Kick.com, changing colors, adjusting chat, removing/adding features, etc. It is also a full suite of tools for streamers including custom emotes, a powerful cloud chat bot, Augmented Displays, and more! For now, we're going to go over the custom emote system, how it works, how to use it, and why you should choose it over any alternatives

\r\n

How Custom Emotes Work

\r\n

Custom emotes on AeroKick work very similarly to many custom emote systems for other sites such as BetterTTV or FFZ for Twitch. With AeroKick anyone is free to upload up to 500 custom emotes to their channel, each emote that is uploaded can either be marked as \"public\" or \"private\". Publicly uploaded emotes will show up on the AeroKick Emote Explore page, where anyone else will be able to freely add them to their own channel. Private uploads will not be published to the explore page. Once a custom emote has been added to your channel, anyone that visits your Kick channel will be able to use the emote! However, much like any other custom emote system, only those with the AeroKick extension installed will be able to see the custom emotes in chat. Both AeroKick and Pixel Chat currently provide on-stream chat overlays with support for AeroKick emotes. $\"image-20240226160128094\"$

How to Use & Upload Custom Emotes

\r\n

AeroKick makes the emote upload process as simple as we possibly can. You must first have an AeroKick account, you can get everything set up for that from the AeroKick Link page, however if you would like a more in-depth tutorial on how to set up an account you can find one here.

\r\n

Once you have installed AeroKick and set up an account, it's time to upload your first emote! Start by opening your AeroKick Dashboard and click on the Emotes tab on the left nav bar. You will be brought to a page that looks like the following: $\"image-20240226161021097\"$

This is the emote management page, this is where you can discover and add emotes that others have uploaded, as well as upload your own emotes. Now it's time to upload an emote, click the \"Upload Emote\" button in the upper right of the Discover section, this will bring up a modal that looks like this:

You can now click the big upload icon and AeroKick will bring up your system file picker to select the emote you would like to upload. AeroKick Supports various image formats, including png, jpeg, gif, and webp. Once you have selected an emote to be uploaded, it's time to give the emote a name. The name can contain alphanumeric characters and underscores, and is what will be used to send the emote in chat.

You are now able to upload the emote! However you may notice that there are two check boxes. The first one is the NSFW checkbox, this checkbox labels the emote as NSFW. While AeroKick does not allow nudity in uploaded emotes, we ask that if you think an emote may not be appropriate for certain audiences, or may cause issues if displayed on a stream you mark it as NSFW.

The second checkbox marks an emote as Private, as mentioned earlier marking an emote as Private means that the emote will not be published to the AeroKick Emote Discovery page. The emote will however still be added to your channel, and anyone will be able to use the emote in your chat. This is ideal if you have commissioned emotes or otherwise don't want a certain emote to be used on other channels.

Once you are ready, it's time to click the \"Submit Emote\" button, this will begin the upload and conversion process, this can take anywhere from half a second to 20-ish seconds depending on your internet speed, and the size of the emote. All uploaded emotes will be automatically converted into 3 sizes, as well as several image formats to make sure they are compatible with all browsers.

When your emote finishes uploading, it will automatically be added to your channel emote list on the right side of your AeroKick Dashboard

You may notice that the emote shows as Awaiting Approval. This is normal and just means that one of the AeroKick moderators must approve your emote before it is able to be used or will show up in the public discover feed. This process usually takes less than a few minutes, however it can take up to a day depending on how many content moderators are available. Once your emote has been approved, you and anyone else in your channel will instantly be able to use it in your chat. Anyone in chat that has the AeroKick Extension installed won't even have to refresh their page to see the new emote (this goes for adding emotes from the discover feed as well.)

Uploading multiple emotes

\r\n

AeroKick also offers a \"Bulk Emote Uploader\" for those of you looking to upload several emotes at once, or those looking to easily move your emotes over from another platform. To open the Batch Uploader, click the \"Upload Emote\" button like before, then click the \"Batch Upload\" text at the top of the emote upload modal.

This will open the Batch Upload modal:

From here you can click the upload icon just like before, but now you are able to select multiple files! Once you have selected the files, you will see a screen like the following:

This will look almost identical to the single emote upload modal, just with multiple emotes! You can follow the same steps as before for each emote that you have selected to upload, then click the \"Upload Emotes\" button at the bottom of the screen. This will go through and upload each emote; Note that this can take a little while since it has to upload each emote one at a time. Once all the emotes are finished uploading you must wait for them all to be approved, much like with the standard single emote upload system.

Personal Emotes

\r\n

AeroKick Dynamic subscribers are able to select three of what we call \"Personal Emotes.\" Personal Emotes are emotes that you are able to use in any channel. They follow you around no matter where you go and anyone using the AeroKick extension will be able to see them in any channel you use them in. If you are an AeroKick Dynamic subscriber, you can add personal emotes by dragging emotes from the discover page down to your personal emotes box in the lower right. NSFW emotes are not able to be added as personal emotes.

Reporting Emotes

At AeroKick we have a massive respect for intellectual property, if you ever see an emote on the public discover page that you made or own the rights to, and do not want it to be available publicly you may use the \"Report Emote\" functionality on the emote page:

Once a report is submitted one of the AeroKick Content Moderators will review the report, and if we deem it agreeable we will accept the report and the emote will be removed from the site.

Getting Started

\r\n

To get started you're going to need an AeroKick account. AeroKick is a suite of tools for Kick ranging from a chrome extension, to custom emotes, a cloud chat bot, and Augmented Displays. If you need help getting signed up, we have a post about that Here.

Augmented Displays

\r\n

Augmented Displays are AeroKicks custom stream visuals system. Augmented Displays provide everything from Chat, to alerts, streamethon timers and more. All in one cohesive system, with beautiful fluid animations and stunning graphics.

\r\n

This tutorial will walk your through everything you need to know to get an Augmented Display set up for your Kick stream.

\r\n

Enabling The Bot

\r\n

In order for the Augmented Display system to work, you must first enable the AeroKick Chat Bot. This allows AeroKick to connect to your channel, and recieve events like follows, subs, etc.

\r\n

To enable the bot, you'll want to visit the Bot Management Page on the AeroKick Dashboard. If you haven't already enabled the chat bot, you will see a modal like the following:

\r\n

Click the \"Enable Bot\" button, this will switch the modal to a new modal like the following:

\r\n

Following those instructions, open the Kick Channel Moderators Page and add AeroKick as a Moderator.

\r\n

Once AeroKick has been added as a moderator, you can click the \"I Have\" button, which will enable the AeroKick Chat bot.

\r\n

Creating your first Augmented Display

\r\n

Once you've signed in and enabled the AeroKick Chat Bot, it's time to create your first Augmented Display. Augmented Displays are AeroKicks on-stream visuals system. Let's get started by clicking the Augmented Displays tab on the left nav bar, this will bring you to a page like the following:

\r\n

It will start empty, so let's get our first Augmented Display added, we're going to start with Slim since it's one of the free Augmented Displays. From the right side of the screen click the + icon on the Slim card. If Slim isn't visible, you can click the Explore More button, or click Here.

\r\n

This will add the Slim Display to your inventory:

\r\n

Go ahead and click on the newly created Display, which will bring you to the Augmented Display editor.

\r\n

Configuring your Augmented Display

\r\n

By default, your editor should look something like this:

\r\n

Let's quickly go over each section:

\r\n

Section 1:

\r\n

Section 1 is the configuration section. This section let's you turn on/off the built in Augments, as well as tweak any settings each Augment may have, such as color, alignment, custom sounds, etc.

\r\n

Section 2:

\r\n

Section 2 allows you to add \"Optional Augments\", link your OBS, or get the Augmented Display browser source link. Optional Augments are Augments that can be added an infinite number of times to a given Augmented Display. This includes stream labels, the AeroKick Streamathon timer, and more coming soon. Linking OBS to the editor will allow the Augmented Display Editor to show a live preview of your OBS scene, making it much easier to place augments exactly where you want them!

\r\n

Section 3:

\r\n

Section 3 is the \"Simulation\" section. This section gives you quick buttons to simulate any event that could trigger something in an Augmented Display, like fake chat messages, or a follow. This allows you to easily see what the Display will look like when it's actually in use!

\r\n

Section 4:

\r\n

Section 4 is the Augmented Display Canvas. This is where you are able to move, scale, resize, and position each Augment in an Augmented Display

\r\n

Feel free to mess around and play with the editor! Here are some helpful tips about how the editor works

\r\n

Snapping: All Augments in the editor will automatically snap/align with both the canvas, and other Augments in the canvas. If you would like to temporarily disable snapping, you can hold `CTRL` on your keyboard while dragging.
You can hold `SHIFT` on your keyboard while dragging, this will make it so the Augment you are moving will only move directly horizontally or vertically.
Rotation: Some Augments support rotation(such as the optional label Augment) you can rotate these Augments using the little handle that will show up above them. You can hold shift while rotating to snap to 45 degree angles.
If you would like to place an Augment slightly off-screen for whatever reason, you can hold `CTRL` which will allow you to drag Augments partially off screen.

Linking OBS

\r\n

If you would like to, the AeroKick Augmented Display Editor can be linked to your OBS, this will allow the editor to show a preview of your OBS scene to make placing Augments much easier. Setting this up is as simple as clicking the \"Link OBS\" button in the lower left of the editor and following the 4 step instructions that pop up. Once you have finished, you will see your OBS scene in the background of the editor automatically

Adding the Augmented Display to your streaming software

\r\n

Now thet you have configured everything the way to want, it's time to add the browser source to your streaming software. Click the \"Get Link\" button in the lower left, this will open a small modal with the link, some instructions, and a copy button:

Go ahead and click the copy button, this will copy the link to your clipboard. Now open your streaming software, and add a new Browser Source. When configuring the browser source, make sure to set the source width and height to 1920 by 1080. If using OBS we recommend turning on the \"Use custom frame rate\" checkbox and setting it to 60. We also recommend turning on the \"Shutdown source when not visible\" checkbox. Once you have pasted the link in and configured the browser source, save it and you're good to go!

You can always return to the AeroKick editor to tweak/change things as you'd like, and everything in your streaming software will update in real-time automatically.

\r\n

Dynamic Displays

\r\n

AeroKick also features a number of \"Dynamic\" Augmented Displays. These are displays that require a subscription to AeroKick Dynamic to use. These Augmented Displays feature much more interactive animations and visuals. Some of them even have full stream asset packs including scenes, cam frames, and more!

\r\n

Even if you are not a subscriber, you are able to add Dynamic Displays to your inventory. When you open them they will be in trial mode, this means that you can still configure them, and use the test buttons to see how the display would look, but the Display will not connect to your stream.

\r\n

Many of the Dynamic Displays feature what we call the \"Fluid Animation System.\" This is an advanced animation system that allows the different Augments in the Display to interact with eachother no matter where you place them on the Canvas:

Dynamic Displays also may come with build in sound FX that perfectly adjust and adapt to match each animation in the Augmented Display!

This post will help guide you through the process of signing in and checking out our Custom Emotes repository, Chat Bot, Augmented Displays and more!

Step 1 - Getting Started

\r\n

We'll use our sign in page to guide us through the process as well.

\r\n

If you already have the extension installed you can skip this step, otherwise we'll start by clicking on the \"Get The Extension\" button as indicated in the page's first step.

\r\n

Once you are on the Chrome Web Store page, you can click the \"Add to Chrome\" or \"Get\" in some instances and you'll get a little popup asking if you wanna add the extension. Click \"Add Extension\".

\r\n

Step 2 - Signing In

\r\n

Now that we've made sure we have the extension installed, we are ready to actually sign in!

\r\n

Back on the sign in page we will have moved to the next step with a new button saying \"Sign In\".
Click this button and the browser will open a new page to Kick.com with a little popup window and another \"Sign In\" button, this will send one authorization message to the AeroKick channel.

\r\n

Once our system has picked up the message and signed you in you'll get redirected back to the sign in page.

\r\n

Step 3 - Time To Explore

\r\n

Now that we are back to the sign in page we should also be on the final step.

Click the \"Dashboard\" button and start exploring the things we've got in store!

Shoutouts are an integral part of many streams, they give you a way to recognize and promote other streamers or viewers that you want to support. In the following tutorial we're going to use the AeroKick Chat bot to set up a shoutout command for your chat!

Getting Started

\r\n

First things first, if you don't have an AeroKick account, you'll need to sign up. We have a tutorial on how to do that here if you would likesome help getting it quickly set up! Once you have an AeroKick account it's time to enable the AeroKick Chat Bot

\r\n

Enabling The Bot

\r\n

To enable the bot, you'll want to visit the Bot Management Page on the AeroKick Dashboard. If you haven't already enabled the chat bot, you will see a modal like the following:

Click the \"Enable Bot\" button, this will switch the modal to a new modal like the following:

Following those instructions, open the Kick Channel Moderators Page and add AeroKick as a Moderator.

Once AeroKick has been added as a moderator, you can click the \"I Have\" button, which will enable the AeroKick Chat bot.

AeroKick Bot Flow

\r\n

In the AeroKick Chat Bot, everything is a \"Flow.\" Flows are a set of actions that run whenever a specific trigger condition is met. This is explained a bit further on the Bot Documentation if you're curious about the differences between other bot systems.

\r\n

Creating Your First Flow

\r\n

Now it's time to create your Flow! First open the AeroKick Dashboard and navigate to the Bot Page. From here you should see a page similar to the following:

\r\n

Let's go ahead and click the \"Create Flow\" button in the upper left. Doing so will open up the AeroKick Basic Flow Editor, which should look like this:

\r\n

This page can be a bit confusing at first glance, so let's break it down while we go through setting up the Shoutout command.

\r\n

Configuring the trigger

\r\n

As mentioned above, the AeroKick Chat Bot is build on a system we call Flows. Flows are ran by what we call Triggers. Triggers can range from chat messages, to follow events, timers, even streamdeck buttons! But for now, we're trying to set up a Shoutout command.

\r\n

On the left side of the open window is where you will find the Triggers for the newly created flow. By default there will be 1 trigger that is configured to look for the chat command !command. Let's change that to look for the command !so like so:

\r\n

To quickly break this Trigger down, it does the following:

\r\n

Tells the AeroKick chat bot that it's looking for a Chat Message
Tells AeroKick that we only care about the \"Command\" of the chat message
Tells AeroKick to check that the Command is equal to..
The value of so

\r\n

The trigger system is super powerful, allowing you to really hone in on what you want to cause any Flow to be ran. If you'd like to allow a Flow to be ran by two different commands, you can simply add a second Trigger to the Flow!

\r\n

Configuring the Flow

\r\n

Now it's time to set up what actually happens when the Flow is ran. Let's move our focus to the right side of the open window and take this from top to bottom!

\r\n

Cool Down

\r\n

First let's configure the Cool Down. Cool Downs allow you to easily set how often a Flow can be ran, and optionally allow a response to be sent in chat if a Flow is on Cool Down.

\r\n

For the shoutout command, let's leave the Cool Down set to 5 seconds without any response. We also want this to be a global Cool Down, so leave the \"Per Chatter\" toggle off:

Require Role

\r\n

Next let's configure the Required Role section, this let's us tell the Flow that only chatters with a specified role(or above) should be able to run the Flow.

\r\n

Since we're writing a Shoutout command, let's set the Required Role to \"Moderator.\" And let's also turn on the \"Reply if chatter doesn't have permission\" toggle, this will tell the Flow to reply in chat if someone doesn't have the role that is required to run the !so command.

\r\n

Response

\r\n

Finally, it's time to write what we want the AeroKick Chat Bot to say when someone with permission runs the command in chat!

\r\n

This field supports a bunch of different variables, and will auto-complete them as you type. I encorage you to try typing out the response below so you can get a feel for how the variable editor works. But if you would rather copy and paste, the full response will be available under the screenshot.

As you can see, the input will highlight and auto-complete any variables that the bot supports!

Saving and testing

\r\n

AeroKick automatically saves your work as you're editing, but you can always click the \"Save\" button in the corner to make double sure that everything is saved! Now let's quickly give our new Flow a name, click anywhere outside of the Basic Editor modal, and you will be brought back to the Bot Management Page.

\r\n

You should now see your newly created Flow in the table on the left, you can click on it's name to edit it:

Once you have given it a name you like, you can press enter to save it, or simply click anywhere else on the page.

\r\n

Now that everything is set up, let's give our new Flow a try! Open your Kick channels chat and type !so ACPixel (or anyone else you'd like to test it on)

If everything was set up correctly, the AeroKick bot should respond with our configured message in chat! If it doesn't seem to be working however, we are always around in Our Discord Server, and are more than happy to help!

Going a step further
